Triple clamp. What's it off?

Here's some piccies of a triple clamp I'm trying to find it's origin. 37mm forks and the two holes in the top look like they're for rubber mounted handlebars maybe. there should also have been some instrument mounts at the front but they have been cut off so don't let that bit throw you also the fact that it's chromed, this is not standard.
Would appreciate all clues and betterer still if anyone has a spare.
As it's been chromed there could be a bit of tidying up to the casting lines etc done too.

it's the top one you can see the recess where the steering stem abuts into it and the top bolt bolts in that's a size down.

It does look characteristically Suzuki - but it's not a GS1000 - unless late ones had rubber mounted bars.
What's the width C to C of the legs, and the offset ?
Chromed ? - is it alloy ?

For your long 37mm stanchions memory says RM370 used 37mm.

Pretty sure the RM's had a leading axle fork too - but the stanchion OD and length may suit.

Typing with sticky fingers after having a feel under a GS top yoke...and I reckon if you shaved off the bar clamps
you'd be left with an oval hole not circular - but it does look a lot like a GS1000. GS1000G maybe ?

Just to throw in some confusion, that top clamp looks to me as if it has been well hacked about before chroming - the bar mounting holes look too small for rubber mounts, I suggest that the original, solid mountings have been ground/machined off, and "handle bar risers" have been fitted. Was the bike it came off "customised"? I think that Yamaha also used 37mm forks on early 70's models. So possibly Yamaha.

you could say the bike was customised a bit, actually got it sorted started life as a GS1000 one and has been way modified. the hole threw me in the first place as they were for an earlier custom version and not used in it's current state.
