THe XR produces 95hp, but less torque, also revs to 7k approx. I have a local I have ridden with, whose XR has had the pipes reflowed, power commander fitted and K&N filter.... they are basically neck and neck...
So yes the MT would be faster than a standard XR1200, but not worth writing on the wall about.

somehow I dont think that the new XR1200 in std trim would be a challenge to the MT-01 in std trim
something to do with a few more cc's, hp, and a tad more torque.
Agree the XR is a very nice kit, but no longer available new here, thanks to the Aussies not importing them any more.
Anyways, threads about cruisers , fun beasts to enjoy a slow ride on with a hot Chicky babe on the back.
To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.
Interesting how many put shite on the under slung muffler when Buell first unveiled it on the XBs and now it's du jour.
I guess that rear disc also reduces unspringerated weight.
Be interesting to hear an engineer's thoughts on whether it puts more load on the chain. That thing doesn't look like it needs help stretching chains.
Be a killer stunt bike with some KLR handlebars on it. Really like it except for the paint, I'm not that fussed on.
With the front sprocket being smaller than the rear then the disc would turn alot faster. Say sprockets at 15 to 45 etc would be disc turning 3 times as often as if it would on the rear wheel. This would mean it would slow the acceleration of the bike due to revolving mass and you couldnt use that weight as a form or replacement for a flywheel weight due to it not revolving as mass when bike in neutral or clutch engaged. I think thats making for a bad design.
