My clutch got as real workout today too.
Dropped down from Isolation to the Gun Club Valley (much prefer going up that one) and tried going up a ridge to the east to get out.
Got to within about 200m of the top and was in severe danger of looping the bike if I attempted the last section. Took about 10min to get back down.
Went down Linton Hill and had a little play around.
The trials tyre needs lower gearing for this stuff.
I'd like to go slower.
Great fun![]()
Can't believe i'm asking this but does anyone have any "spare" used road tires that'd fit the DRZ (18/21)? i'm doing a bit of commuting over the takaka hill at the moment and having a few too many "moments" on the knoblies, and am getting sick of the vibration.
Really skint at the moment but i'm sure i could come up with a suitable trade.

Get yer Knobbyknife out and cut the knobs off like Burt Munro did .....
I've got a worn MT21 rear if ya want it. It rides like a gay road tyre at the best of times.
Or you could try the shops, or Cycletreads for a used one, you might be suprised what they've got lying around.
Got an 18" 705 with plenty of life left in the tread.
Shame about the bead and sidewall though...
Mitas E07 front in good nick.
Nothing suitable in 18" rear though...
i have a 17" slick you can try and stretch on there... might be slipprier on the wet bits tho![]()
Try the Rubbish (Recycling) shop. They sometimes have bike tyres.![]()
Got a tube of "CRC Industrial Silicon Grease" today.
On the back are the magic words...
"Di-Electric Grease".
-40* to 200* operating range.
$15 from Repco.
Woodman couldn't remember what it was called![]()
