a V sounds good, but if the bottom part is too long, youll just end up cupping the tyre bead in the V, and it wont pop over into the rim.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

man that tool did look good, not sure if it would work on a road bike though? think it might slip along the sidewall n shit
I use tyre levers and do my own tyres.. after a while u get a technique down but its fuckn physical, some tyres are real tough. that wee device looked simple as.
How much Pete?
There's alot of time in makeing one... not a lot of cost in martrials.
I'm trying to speed it up.. I have put a bit on some gear cutters
on E-bay.. Should speed the cutting of the gear/rack up..
But it will be well under half of getting one from overseas..There's are
99euros = $163nz plus shiping..so getting up to around $200nz...
To make one from start to finish prob 7 hours or more...
Be a couple of weeks yet..When the cutters arrive I still have
to machine up arbors to hold them...
So when I do start I will machine enough bits for 10/12...

for the sake of curiosity, will this be usable on road bike tyres, or is it really only for off road tyres? A group of friends and I get together every couple weeks and do maintenance and a bbq, and it could be the kinda tool i could donate to our tool library if it was ok for road tyres.
