very good - perhaps we can organise to meet at the Papakura BP and all ride down together. I'd be thinking meet at 9:30 for a 10am departure, take the twisting long way down to Taupo

I know things change and all and it'll be interesting to see what the weather throws at us - but I'd be keen to do a big figure of eight this year

mind you I have an ulterior motive - 1600kms will see me wind the clock over on my old girl - which means I can give her some love in the form of a nice candy flames paint job.

Put my name down Dawn, I have sent an accomodation request to Rainbow Lodge. I stayed there for 3 nights when marshalling for the final round of the National Super Bikes. Friendly peoples and clean facilities
And it turns out that I have the fabulous company of Fran and my new Nanna for the ride down on Saturday![]()
Hello Qk's,

Cant wait QKKID/QKCHK are back from Thailand now
Hope everyone is booked in for a great long weekend of riding and socialising
Sounds like we have some good numbers of people coming to this event 40+ hopefully
I have just been in touch with the people down in Taupo for the accomodation ( look at first post for the accomodation) and there is still some rooms available with 4 beds in them you can book a bed in one of those rooms and share only with one of our Kiwibiker people who book so you will only be paying for a bed in that room. so that it is secure with only our guys in it.

Well seems I've got another ulterior motive now...trying to hatch a plan that will allow us to move back to Queensland and try something new, so it's quite possible that this will be one of the last chances I get to do the Forgotten Highway and parts of East Cape.
So is anybody else interested in this big arse figure of 8 ride? Might end up doing it solo if nobody else is keen but its always nice to have the company.

Would have been keen as you guys will be just up the road, but will be in Huntly for youngest boys MX NI Champs.
Ride safe!
well that's easy enough...
