Oh well you can't have everything I guess! I was getting about 240-250 km before the light came on but was only getting 16l of fuel in. Can you get more in sitting on the bike? I stopped doing that ages ago.

Yes. And once the engine warms it up it comes out the overflow and all over your left ankle.

Thought you'd get a tad more than that, I get 250-260 to the light touring and I'm geared 8% lower.

Enjoy the buzz, dude. Come tell us what you think in a couple of weeks, eh?

Throttle body sync. I don't actually know what I am talking about in relation to this bike but I did it on my Strom and it helped enorgamously by smoothing things out. The Buell bucks and jerks below 4k esp rumbling thru town which is a pain considering how high 1st gear is. It would be awful riding thru Aucks, thank god I'm not there!

Try a TPS reset see if it helps the surging.
Buells aren't well known for there low speed behaviour.
Not sure on the specs of your bike, Muffler filter etc but they do like to be tuned for them.

I don't think mine needs a TBS/TPS reset, as in I think the last of 'em were sorta self-calibrating.

Check you've got the latest ECU reflash, the early machines suffered from a Buell/Rotax communucation related fuckup. Mine was never as awful as the first year's offerings but still, in the time I've owned it it's had three updates, it's gone from extrordinarilly jerky off idle to smooth as silk at any revs/throttle.

I assume teh scooter centre was responsible for any servicing to date? In which case mate crasher could have a wee look at it's history for you. For a small commercial consideration, p'raps. Or at least a kind word or two...

If you go looking for an aftermarket zorst let me know what you find. I found fuck all that didn;t look like a poorly fitted dirt bike muffler or similar abomination, but I haven't looked recently. If/when I get time and find that's still the case I'll be knocking up a composite SS jobbie.

Yeah I was so keen to get going I didn't actually ask himm about all that!
I will maybe look at doing something to the muffler down the track, It is a hideous beast of a thing but for all that not particularly visible!
The Saron one I looked at looked like a homemade one. Styling wise I mean. It was loud tho!
