Gidday mate
Yeah...bummer ay...I just couldn't ride her with the shattered shoulder from the 4x4 hitting me last winter (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ghway-by-a-4x4)
The shoulder is still screwed! (I need surgery, but I'm a big chicken & scared of hospitals lol), So I had to sell my PhatGirl (But I found a good home for her tho...Guzzi nut & KB member -horace)
I ended up getting a....cruiser...to help with the rehab (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...him-today)...a great bike, well made etc...but just not me
(I was wearing it out in the corners lol)
Hence the new VFR (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...mp-Rob%29)...I love it!(always wanted a 94-97) , great all rounder and the shoulder doesn't hurt due to the light weight and comfy seat position![]()
But your dead right...I will always have the Guzzi bug...I WILL get another one day
love the pipe on your one...but Im actually enjoying the quiet after the Guzzi & cruiser...and the sound of those gear driven cams & V4 intact
...but the mild steel headers etc on mine are pritty badly rusted, so I'm already looking for a nice stainless replacement...next year tho, we just had another baby, Girl this time- "Winter Rose"...5 weeks old and gorgeous, so the savings are a bit low presently
Always good to hear from ya D, Hope you and the family are doing well mate(and that sexy Guzzi of yours is still flying!
)
-Willy
PS: Sorry for large reply in ya thread Paul...not hijacking mate![]()
When Life thows me a curve
...I lean into it!
The Italians have been turning riders into mechanics for a century.
...she took the KT, and left me the Buell to ride....(Blues Brothers)
Well it lives again.... End of the street and back.
Shes looking a bit ropey but just as I was about to strip it for a full on paint and sort out Vicki reminded me of all the other projects I have on, its only half buggered and whats the point in having it flash as when it get hurled down gravel roads, ridden in all weathers and parked in muddy fields at rallys etc.
Now - just got to get it running properly, wof, rego (shudder) and finally sor out those period Givi pannier mounts.....
sigh.......
Good stuff, Paul...do show us a pic or two please..
"...you meet the weirdest people riding a Guzzi !!..."
If you fix it up too much Paul then you won't wanna use it.
Blast From The Past Axis of Oil
Bloody Moto Guzzi !!!
Got my speedo back from the fixers. Put it back together and now find that yes the odometer does work as I requested but now the speedo only reads a third to half of what it normally should..

!!
So pulled the dash apart numerous times trying to figure out if I had assembled something incorrectly. The speedo cable seems to be okay, ..so assuming it's something the repair shop did.
Here's a question,..if the gear that runs the odometer runs slow,..will that cause the speedo to run slow? My impression is that the odometer runs off the speedo not the other way around.
