Just to keep it real, I'm not going to buy it, but here in Dubai There is one on the market, never been registered, not raced, so it would only be sensible to keep it that way in an investment sense. I'm sure if I owned it, the lure of riding it now and then would be too much to resist!
The other comment I'd make is that the Desmo was made in limited numbers. Every man and his dog will buy a Panigale, who'd blame them? Ergo the Sedici will be the better investment, albeit twice the price.

Investing in something like that? Good time, not long time. Buy it to rape. It's only right. Putting things like that on a pedestal is a bit like religion... imaginary craziness. It's a road registerable bike... it's only good for one thing.... riding. Plenty of customs and one offs that you can use as artwork.

Anyone remember that snooker player Steve James? Rode his NR750 everywhere he did. Like a fucking boss

Fucking oath. I've got an SR500 factory race bike coming my way. One of maybe 4 or 5 in the world ever built. Am I gonna ride/race it? You know it.

I think they have about a 5000k warranty from Ducati regardless of age so if its done less than that and remains less than that it wouldnt be a bad investment. would look great in the lounge

IIRC the purchase price included everything for 3 years. Can't remember if it included a supply of the odd 16" rear tyres or not. Half the porn is in the sound, be waste not to fire it up at the very least.

I'd happily buy 2x Desmocidici's if I could afford them (afford one you can afford two). One would be a 0k static display inside a climate controlled glass cabinet in the lounge. The other would be a track day giggle machine.

the general tone of your scribblings suggest that you feel they have not yet attained desireable or collectable status

Which fairy cloud are you living on?

I was in New York recently, and the Ducati New York dealer has a desmosedici still in its crate on display.

When I asked the owner when he was going to assemble and ride it,he just laughed.....

I hope that answers your question.

It'd bring you more joy than putting $70k in a term deposit, doubt it'd make it you more money though.
