Wish I could say the same about good deals from my local bike shop up here in the Far North. Hence why we're forming the collective purchasing group.
    No offense taken.

I had the opportunity to shoot out to Hori bay this avo.
It was awesomely warm & sunny.
I came to the hill of impossibility which looked rutteder & rockier & crappier than I've seen after the rains etc.
I was on a photo trip so thought I'd just ride up slowly to where I would inevitably fall over/ run into a pine tree/ bottom out/ loop the bike & get a couple of fun shots you could laugh at.
I rode up & amazingly the bike went the way I pointed it - it was bizarre. I got further than I had ever before & really started to wonder of I'd fall off the top of the world

It smooths out past 1/2 way up.
    Shit I'm at the top

    That was um.... easy.
Wonder why it was so different from the last thousand times I've never gotten up?
Could have something to do with those square bits of rubber on the rear wheel I reckon.

Seriously considering taking out 1st place in the enduro this weekend now.
I think Snotso & I are starting to bond

I may put some shots up on advrider -

Yep it smooths out just past your usual rest stop. You didn't know?

I took the MTB for a walk up the hill behind Founders this afternoon...

    Quite happy I'm not racing.
It's going to be about 6hrs of riding/racing for the mortals and 8hrs for the experts.

Methinks I should be able to get away with 1 or 2 laps. Going slowly and toting the cameras.

I think I'll get some pits/start shots and then up to the first technical test ready for the experts on their 2nd lap.

Going to be a loooong day...

NordieBro thinks about 20 or more "experts" and no idea how many intermediate, trail and youth class...

If the weather was fine, then it'd be great fun to ride.

Sounds like I rode 99% of the expert loop the other weekend...

We could do the expert loop at nice slow pace on a NADS ride if everyone had knobblies. Most of the places, we've already been.

The intermediate loop is Shinko 705 territory no probs.

No I don't think so Nordieboy. I would say good knobblies all the way.
I went for a blat & caught up with Nordiebro putting out some arrows.
He warned me not to go up or down too many arrowed tracks. I of course didn't listen.
I started to go down a track beside Thomas rd tht drops down onto sharlands however it was dark, slippery, rooty & I was alone so decided to back track.
I dropped down a track on the other side of Thomas road & had 2 falls headfirst into gorse Some of those tracks will be murderous after a couple of bikes have been down. They are cambered slippery clay goat tracks with drop offs into gorse.

I had a go up hurricane hill. The A line is pretty slippery & the B line has a very deep rut past the tree trunk so turned back & went on the gravel.

A good fun ride but a really lite bike would be the go tommorrow.

    It was almost sunny!

In between the showers, torrential rain, dead calm, howling gales

The race was cut short after 2 laps of the 3.

Ever seen someone field strip a carb on the side of the track, in the rain, clean some crap out of the main jet and re-build the float pivots with metal putty?

    I have now
