I mean, he's not even as successful as Abraham was when he made the (premature) jump to the GP, and look how well that's gone. I mean no disrespect to Smith, as he obviously has heart, and more talent than many in his current field, but it seems all too obvious that he will be taking up space over the next couple of years.
With talent like Luthi, Iannone, Espargaro, and a host of others who haven't signed a GP deal yet, it's nothing short of wasteful. Even the passport argument doesn't work. Two British riders? What the hell?
Unrelated, Salom has to be my favourite racer among the classes these days, he's a class act. To quote his post race interview: "I got sleepy and was passed by Folger and I said, 'What the fuck?'"
Legend.
Tech3 know the chassis he's on has had zero development through the year as there's only 2 of them in the field. It's the same situation as the Bimoto, Moriwaki, FTR and a couple of others. The Suter and Kalex have had the most updates so they attract the most teams and riders, which gives them more feedback for updates and they get progressively better through the year.
Considering where the other non-Suter/non-Kalex chassis's are in the field he's well ahead.
I'm not a Bradley Smith fan but there's more to the situation than you think.
