    I have 2 other gearboxes to swap it with but they are both short ratio.

    Anyone will to guess why it happened? i dont really want to put another one in just for it to happen again.

    You had gear box oil in it aye?

    Don't be offended if you did, lots of people think 2 stroke oils does the whole job.

    Yup I had some semi synthetic 10w30 gbox oil IIRC, it wasn't completely fill.
    Maybe something small broke and jammed the gears and just wreaked havoc

    When it rains it pours.

    So i had put a new gearbox in and it seemed to be running well apart from the running rich issue so today i put a cdi in it that i knew was unrestricted and took out the airbox.
    Instant transformation; heaps of power and it sounded amazing, got to love that induction growl.
    So i decided to make the most of the nice weather and go for a ride, got close to Little River and the engine died and the rear locked up

    So i guess while it was running far too rich with the airbox on it must have been a bit lean without it.
    I will pull the cylinders off sometime this week and hope they are ok.
    Seems like my near new vertex pistons will be throw aways

    lol, I got a spare engine/crank/gbox

    must be getting rare now with so many blowing up haha - might hold onto em!

    bummer bout the rgv.. lucky you didn't bin the bike when the back locked up - how slow are you riding

    So slow, word is that you could keep up with him, on your sidecar. I don't believe anyone is that slow though.
