Just back from a 300km trip exploring the various roads / tracks on the Northern Eastern Banks Peninsula. I have found a beauty! The old Le Bons Bay Track from Takamatua up onto the Summit Road.
3 km of extreme 4WD track: steep, rutted, slippery and covered in large volcanic rocks. Wouldn't try it on anything bigger / heavier than a 650. Was glad to get to the top as didn't fancy a downhill version....
I'd be up for a Robinsons Takamatua loop. Last time I did Takamatua was around this time of year and it took two hours to do 2km on my old DR650. Lots of sweating and pushing. Bit easier on the EXC than the DR me thinks.
TA - your WRR needs more dirt and mud me thinks
