My sister and Bro-in-law bought one that already had the necessary work done to replace the plastic head gasket and spaghetti head studs. Had it checked by a very knowledgeable MG mechanic who pointed out what to look for. I told them not to buy one but they thought it would be okay since it had had the work done.
Suffice to say they did end up regretting it as it began to fall apart around them. Our old MX5 is still as we bought it.

Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!
At least they have hydrolastic suspension, showing they have some lineage from BMC....not that any real MG had hydrolastics.

Don't the MGF's have Hydrogas? which is the same thing but you have those annoying Nitrogen filled spheres?
YD, If you want it get it, sod what anyone else thinksIt's what what I've done
Personally I'd go for a BGT myself

But saying that a lot of MGF owners seem to like 'em and surely they can't be 'that' bad.

Oh, they liked driving it and it did seem to be a good alternative to the MX5 for a few months. But as time went on they became frustrated at all the little things that went wrong and the final straw was when the dashboard started to fall apart...

Went on a trip in Morry-the-lorry to see Shrek & Mrs Shrek at their new abode.
T'was a 200+ km round trip over all sorts of roads (and some non-roads) and nothing fell of or failed to function.
And it used eff-all petrol.
Go B.L.
PS: Nowhere on Morry does it show the name 'Marina'![]()

I'm still undecided at this stage if I should go for an ADO16 or get another 'crab and make it Rally style and use it on the track perhaps once in a while, just seems like having two of the same car is a wee bit of a waste of time.
Suggestions? ...apart from have both lol

Yea it is the same apart from the spheres, but the Nitrogen leaks and apparently it's a bitch to get new gas back into the spheres.
Yea those doors look munted, but as said, same doors as ADO17 and Maxi so better ones could be found.

An MG is not a hotrodded Rover, which is what the MGF is....sort of.
