Also...if you are single male, you will probably be in Unit 1 ...need to book though.
0800 on the first post...tell Irene that you are with us.
Awesome Ive been riding for about 3-4 years in all kinds of conditions. The longest ride I had done myself was around 400kms in a few hours. Pretty confident with the twisties, prefer riding on backroads in the country than boring straight expressways/motorways like the majority of us on two wheels

Thanks for the heads up, will ring Irene to book, is there a deadline on making bookings?

Probably not, but Irene needs to know how many for catering purposes, so as soon as you can. Payment is when we stay so dont let that stop you from booking.

Fast forward to 2:30...thats where the fun bit starts.
Even sped up, you get get an idea of the camber through some of those corners.
Probably a good 15-17 kms worth of bendy bits.
Blimey! This'll have been my first long ride up north and as I'm still a bit of a newbie I can see this road being terrifying but sooo much fun! Btw, I've confirmed and been added to the list but do I need to do anything else? Thanks!

Tenting is not an issue Rob..you'll be fine, just need to know sooner rather than later for the foods sake.

The worst bit is probably between Whanagarei and Kawakawa....all of 55kms...the rest is sweet as.

Ring Irene and book a bed?...very important part...
More importantly, its for catering purposes...the nearest Supermarket is Kaitaia and they need to get the food in.
Dont worry at all about the roads, the ride is designed for the fun factor for all skills levels.

    Announce Bookings

Bookings are essential for catering purposes...the nearest Supermarket is Kaitaia and they need to get the food in once they know the numbers.
You dont have to pay until the day you arrive.

Dont what ever you do worry about that road. I will be TEC for our group and I will be keeping any big meany cagers well away from "my" newbies Honestly, this ride is for all skills, we simply ride to the newest riders ability and are happy to do so. Ring Irene! I am going to ring her for in a moment for the hell of it. Actually thinking on it, she will probably be monitoring this thread

Thanks Mom!! Yeah I've rung her, she says she's full now that I'm staying. I'm fairly confident just sometimes slow down a bit too much than needed for corners that I'm not used to and can get a bit nervous in cross winds otherwise I tend to be okay. Been riding about 5 weeks now I think and loving every second! Can't wait to go up north!!

Don't worry about the speed or how your cornering, as long as your on the correct side of the road that's all that matters!

I've been riding for about 2 years, mainly commuting mind, but still slow around corners that I don't know!

As a the saying goes in the biking world... 'ride your own ride'!!

I'll be on a new bike, so i'll be going reasonably slow as well!

So can't wait for this ride now...what's scary is that it'll be upon us before we know it!

Yeah that's what I figured! I'd rather go slow and I still get around them fine haha.

I can't wait either!!! I think time is going to go far too slowly up until then!! It's going to be the break that I badly badly need!!!

Oh you have plenty of experience! I had been riding for all of three weeks when I went on my first group ride with these guys. Auckland to Mangawhai and back. I was pretty shattered by the end of the day never having been on the open road before
