Just had a squizz at the "legal system" thread & was prompted to post this.
A few days ago a 14 year old boy was hit by a dairy tanker on SH1 near here. The media said he was cycling home at 1am when it happened, the accident was fatal.
Over the last few days I have noticed double trailer logging trucks, Dairy tankers etc coming through Paihia, most unusual for our high pedestrian, small tourist town.... with a tiny round about to navigate....
Apparently / allegedly the reason being is that the mongrel mob have threatened to hijack said trucks if they continue going through the town on SH1..
Local opinion on the accident is that the boy was part of a group of youths playing chicken with the traffic at 1am.
Apart from the tragic accident, the above is hearsay, but why have we suddenly got huge trucks coming through town? Is such a situation possible in 21st century NZ?
