That sounds like a good idea, since I'm not a fan of sadistic or inhumane methods (even on animals which are less-than-welcome). We tried smearing mustard on our wooden wheelbarrow once to stop the dog from chewing it to bits. Didn't work. He just went to the water bowl then returned for more!

FYI, dirt section does not work. Their owner has a dirt section and a cat box, and that doesn't cater to keep it from using my new garden. I have uncovered dirt that's been dug up and tossed around to another planted area until I'm ready to work on that area, and it doesn't shit there either. Just on my white pebbles.
