You must be really tall if you think Rossi is short He is just shy of six foot.

There is some sense in this thread, I particularly agree with the people who think that the excess of painted lines has devalued their impact.

I used to use all the road if the way was clear but under the influence of Nick Ienatch I now try to stay on my own side of the road. It is still possible to have cars comiing straight at you while in your own lane though. We need luck as well as skill.

Your way of thinking says 'we' can't do wheelies, do anything more than putt around at 100k, do skids, drag a knee, or any of the other things we enjoy about riding.
If I read that right, you are trying to limit our enjoyment, even more than the powers that be already have. If I want boring, I'll borrow your white tin can to drive around.
Not at all, if you want to pretent to be Rossi etc, go to the right place to do it? What I was saying in reply to bandit is, that when the frequent (I wont say inevitable) OFF happens through, stupid riding, too fast, incorrect lines, no regard for roadcraft DO NOT lead to, as you point out, increased legislation and Gubbermint Interventions. Those of Us who whinge, feel insecure, superior, old fuckers/coots, Nana's, scaredycats, etc etc, will probably stop complaining?

Oh just FYI.. you cant borrow my 'white tin can; to drive round in, I'm a MOTORCYCLIST, I don't own an effin car sonny.
As you were, now be a good lad, my pipe and slippers are over there ------>>>

What he said. In fact years ago (probably before 87.56% of kids on KB were born) there used to be a ministry of transport funded programme hosted by Denny Hulme. He used to advise crossing the centre line on tight bends (yes that you could clearly see ahead), promoting it was safer and easier.

But then again, he did hit a wall when he died.

Sorry GW, he's right. It's the Skatman premise, party A (everyone) is blamed for the actions of party B, (teh Govt.)

Fact is the people that make the rules are no longer doing so for the benefit of the majority of road users, they're doing it to minimise costs.

If you don't like the fact that you have to crawl around our roads and pay a substantial wad of cash for the privilege then don't blame anyone but the guys making the rules.

Not quite, he suffered a heart attack and managed to get the car safely off the track before he died. Genuine hero, that one.

I did note that, but some may not understand the full story so just a bit of clarification for their sake. No offence intended.
