I can vouch for that. It'd be pretty pointless you owning one; what's the wind going to blow through?

Na, I'm with nzspokes on this one, I've always wandered why Mazda didn't do it.

I would own one, and I wouldnt give a bigs rats arse what anyone said, cos I would be out driving the twistys in it. Brilliant cars to drive and stick to the road like shit to a blanket, not very powerful but heaps of fun.

I have a number 2 but anyway I have a special cap I wear. Mrs. Bear looks cute in her cap whether in the driver or passenger seat.

I agree-wonderful sorted chassis with rotary power-probably be even lighter too! IIRC the gearboxs[5 and 6 spd] are rx7 already

    There's one racing in Chch
"If you can make black marks on a straight from the time you turn out of a corner until the braking point of the next turn, then you have enough power."

Already had the RX7 and saw a market for the MX5 that showed Mazda was onto the pulse of motoring and built a car everyone would want! I think it exceeded even their own expectations and deservedly became an icon!

Sums up ownership perfectly. We've had ours about four years now.
