It must have an affect on GP$$$ getting patched over like that . Imagine being told that you can no longer associate with previously loyal customers.

Went into AMPS a few months ago and sat on the Thunderbird Storm. That's my next bike for sure. What a shame I won't be buying it from there.
I just read a history of Harley, they got into trouble for unfair trading practices some decades ago for doing this same shit to dealers in the states.

Amps were able to retain Triumph but Harley would appoint a second AK dealer if they did so. Given that HD is Amps big earner it was kind of a no brainer. Another Triumph dealer will be appointed but not in the immediate future. Ducati to Cyclespot . Info from reliable source.
because none of the parties wish to take it any further. My view is that it is at least anti competitive in breach of s36 of the Commerce Act. But in the absence of a complaint, we will never know.

Surely appointing a second dealer is creating a more competitive market & giving the purchaser more choice. Just playing devils advocate here. Perhaps the villain is Amps, they are taking anti competitive measures to protect their market by making sure there is no other HD dealer in AK.
No I don't really believe that , Ray has always been a good guy & a straight shooter in my book, dealt with him for 35 years & wish him well .
The peon I spoke to did mention that HD has been on their case for years now. So I aggree , I think AMPS is the victim in this. I have also herd nothing but good things about the boys down at AMPS, that's coming from my mate, a long term triump rider. -brought his Trident 900 brand new from AMPS in 1998.

If I was Harley and I had invested getting the dealerships up to my corporate standards I would not want the dealer selling other manuifacturers products. Took a mate to the local BMW dealer to order a few parts then went to the local Harley dealer for a coffee (yep free), my mate said after we walked in the door and was greated by the sales staff that going to the BMW agent was like being a lepper. He brought a set of riding clothes that day from the Harley agent just because the service surpassed his expectations.
The whole high quality dealer experience is one reason why Harley Davidson is the market leader.
Now if Triumph would like to cough up with the parts............... no I didn't think so.

Still waiting for Triumph to cough up with the parts I paid for............................

Whinge whinge whinge. Ive realised that there really is a scary amount of idiots, wierdos and complete fuckwits who ride motorcycles. 9 times out of 10 they are the ones that waste your time, are rude, then complain.
