"Look, Madame, where we live, look how we live ... look at the life we have...The Republic has forgotten us."
Evaluation criteria and their definitions
Drug-specific mortality
Intrinsic lethality of the drug expressed as ratio of lethal dose and standard dose (for adults)
...there is no such thing as LD50 for cannabis?
there's also no such thing as a standard dose (for adults)
Drug-related mortality
The extent to which life is shortened by the use of the drug (excludes drug-specific mortality)—eg, road traffic accidents, lung cancers, HIV, suicide
about three thousand and four percent speculative.
Drug-specific damage
Drug-specific damage to physical health—eg, cirrhosis, seizures, strokes, cardiomyopathy, stomach ulcers
accepted.
Drug-related damage
Drug-related damage to physical health, including consequences of, for example, sexual unwanted activities and self-harm, blood-borne viruses, emphysema, and damage from cutting agents
again, while I turn into a drug addled pedophile incestual rapist kidnapping shotgun weilding streaking homicidal self harming maniac, common observation would suggest it's not common to all users.
Dependence
The extent to which a drug creates a propensity or urge to continue to use despite adverse consequences (ICD 10 or DSM IV)
half n half. again, subjective, some people say cocaine is addictive. i havent had it in years, i can binge and then leave it for years, some say tobbacco is addictive, but when i don't have it, i don't smoke it.the whole "addictive personality" comes into it and is quite seperate from "chemical addiction" which creates a change in the physiology so the body craves it.
Drug-specific impairment of mental functioning
Drug-specific impairment of mental functioning—eg, amfetamine-induced psychosis, ketamine intoxication
would need to know the "impairment tests" and thresholds to comment. i can thread a needle and hem my baggy (and slightly itchy) hemp hippy pants while stoned, something i cant be fucked doing sober.
tests done by the evil british government show that drivers do (statistically) improve after 1-4 standard drinks.
Drug-related impairment of mental functioning
Drug-related impairment of mental functioning—eg, mood disorders secondary to drug-user's lifestyle or drug use
as above, with the addition of: "mood disorders" tend to be pre-existing and drug use exacerbates, but does not cause, them.
Loss of tangibles
Extent of loss of tangible things (eg, income, housing, job, educational achievements, criminal record, imprisonment)
i did sell my morals for crack...
the loss of job and therefore everything else money related is probably more related to the criminal element (drug tests etc) and enforcement/penalties/fines for the drug's legal status. certainly the "criminal record, imprisonment" arises solely because of the legal status.
the price is allowed to remain inflated due to the limited supply.
i don't see how you can loose an educational achievement.
Loss of relationships
Extent of loss of relationship with family and friends
on a scale of one to ten? one where you only slightly loose your family, and ten where your so high you can't find your way home?
Injury
Extent to which the use of a drug increases the chance of injuries to others both directly and indirectly—eg, violence (including domestic violence), traffic accident, fetal harm, drug waste, secondary transmission of blood-borne viruses
speculative and subjective.
Crime
Extent to which the use of a drug involves or leads to an increase in volume of acquisitive crime (beyond the use-of-drug act) directly or indirectly (at the population level, not the individual level)
according to whom/ who is to say that the little black cunt wouldn't have robbed you anyway? he just enjoys smoking dope and so did that before breaking in.
Environmental damage
Extent to which the use and production of a drug causes environmental damage locally—eg, toxic waste from amfetamine factories, discarded needles
and so if we could have biohaz bags in our kitchen next to the compost, and could drop our needles there after pinning up with breakfast, the situation would be worse?
yes, large amounts of chemicals are used in the manufacture of certain drugs, but with all the other capitalist industry that exists, surely thre are bigger fish to fry? not to mention that (legal) psycho-pharma companies produce WAY HEAPS MORE environmental damage than illegal ones. consider the indian medico manufacturers.
Family adversities
Extent to which the use of a drug causes family adversities—eg, family breakdown, economic wellbeing, emotional wellbeing, future prospects of children, child neglect
well, if you have dicks like grubby in your family, you probably can do without the relationship anyway, innit.
given the amount of social disorder/harmony and family breakdown encouraged by the feminised "family" court system, (and the bitch that gave rise to the article that gave rise to this awesome thread)... trying to pin any of those events on drug/substance use is fucking silly.
International damage
Extent to which the use of a drug in the UK contributes to damage internationally—eg, deforestation, destabilisation of countries, international crime, new markets
bwahahahahahahahhaa.
OR, like the US invading afghanistan for a secure heroin.morphine supply, eh?
Economic cost
Extent to which the use of a drug causes direct costs to the country (eg, health care, police, prisons, social services, customs, insurance, crime) and indirect costs (eg, loss of productivity, absenteeism)
if we remove the illegality we can cross police, prisons, social services, customs off that list, leaving health care, which i'd need ot see some stats on, insurance, which seems irrelevant, it's a scam and has more to do with thievery, and crime, which is probably largely unrelated, as above.
Community
Extent to which the use of a drug creates decline in social cohesion and decline in the reputation of the community
BUAHAHAAAMUUUAhAHHAHAHABAHAHAHABAHHHHAAAAAAAAAA.
yes. no. drugs are the cause of all the world's problems concerning social cohesion.
BUAHAHAAAMUUUAhAHHAHAHABAHAHAHABAHHHHAAAAAAAAAA.
:clapclap:
hear hear.
but at the end of the day, the winner is rugby. or cannabis.
Serious question for you Ed, I am honestly curious to the answer. Considering the bad reactions to Tramadol your daughter has experienced, how does she feel about you driving on it? Does she accept that you are able to judge the affect the drug is having on your mental faculties for yourself and without risk to either yourself or other motorists? It would be terrible to think that she was scared or frightened for you as a result of the situation that's been created. Maybe now I am starting to see how the girl whose parents got dobbed in for over having two weeds growing in their garden may have possibly felt in her own situation. Just maybe.Originally Posted by Ed
