So, to keep the hilarity and convivial chit-chat flowing...

IF it was legal to grow cannabis do you think:

Everybody would grow enough for themselves?

    or

There would be lazy-arses couldn't be naffed growing the stuff who would still find somebody to buy it from? (or steal it from)

I blame the parents. My three kids are all adults, two daughters married and son now 37. (Yes he has left home...). We are a very close family and the kids were brought up in an atmosphere of mutual respect, open honesty and trust.

She is 33 and mother of our two current grandsons, she has been through a lot and has a good medical understanding along with her trust in me. She trusts me completely based on both her own knowledge and her history in knowing me that I wouldn't do something so stupid.

Does she accept that you are able to judge the affect the drug is having on your mental faculties for yourself and without risk to either yourself or other motorists? It would be terrible to think that she was scared or frightened for you as a result of the situation that's been created. Maybe now I am starting to see how the girl whose parents got dobbed in for over having two weeds growing in their garden may have possibly felt in her own situation. Just maybe.

I don't know abiut the Riviera District but up here you'd only have to drive along all State Highways throwing seeds out the window for it to take off like Gorse. There'd be enough for everyone and you wouldn't need an economy around it. Come to think of it, those Scottish settlers were dumb fucks, weren't they?

I think most middle-aged habitual users (those with jobs that exist in the real world as closet smokers) would grow their own if it were legal. Wouldn't you grow your own tomatoes if your tomato habit was costing you upwards of $2,000 - $3,000 a year due to prohibition?

Both. Not everyone makes their own booze... and there is a social element of going out and tying different beers so I assume similar would happen in regards to weed.

I blame the daughter. She has taken it upon herself to come up with an answer that is brutal anyway you look at it. She is getting her way and to hell with the wishes of her parents.

    Thanks for replying Ed.

For what it's worth I'm 39 going on 40 and I've probably been through a lot, but who hasn't? I have a good understanding of the effects of Cannabis on myself and I trust my ability to make sensible decisions, both under the influence and not. I kind of like myself and enjoy life with no intentions of getting off the planet by doing something stupid. Let me share your burden, you've been man enough to admit driving on Tramadol. I sometimes drive whilst enjoying the effects of Cannabis (sssshhhhh! )

We're not so different after all are we Ed?

How can you make a fair judgement without knowing anything about the family? You don't know what her parents are like or anything about her relationship with them. You make sweeping assumptions simply because you support dope.

You are funny, hilariously wrong but funny! We couldn't be more different. Of course you have discussed side effects of Cannabis with your Dr. and worked out which drug is best for you and it's side effects per dose?

Cool story bro, I'll forward it to the Lancet ("one of the world's best known, oldest, and most respected general medical journals" BBC news) I'm sure they'll retract the research and send you a nice thank you letter for setting them straight.

My doctor (I don't actually have a doctor - they're for sick people) wouldn't have a fucking clue what's best for me. Last time I saw a doctor they tried to get me to cease using Cannabis and put me on prescription pharmaceuticals, it was the worst couple of weeks ever before I figured bugger the doctor & resumed normal service.

The fact is, you're happy to judge when you're "in control" and where the limits are for you. The same can be said for someone who has been using Cannabis for a long time. It's as dangerous as having an extra teaspoon of sugar in your tea/coffee. If you disagree with this then how can you stand by your own assertion and please don't bring the doctors into it because the doctors aren't inside your head.

By the way, the girl in the OP is still a cunt. I changed my mind.

Oh, PS. I suffer a chronic illness that among other not nice symptoms causes fatigue so I have to consider several factors when driving. Managing both the illness and after effects of major spinal surgery means I have to be very knowledgable medically and plan my activities around my limitations. I can't afford to do anything that impairs my mental faculties more than absolutely necessary. If for any reason I feel unsafe I won't drive. My ego has no problem in asking others to take over the wheel.

I'm trying to find a situation where dobbing the folks in for the plants is a logical outcome. I can't think of one. You can?
