I was going to comment about the sucky vacuum wipers, but now that I think about it they were on my 100E Prefect. Used to pull out onto the motorway on the way to work, floor the gas pedal to creep up to speed... and the wipers would stop dead. 
I bought that off an old guy who couldn't afford to fix the steering. Every time you went over a bit of a bump at anything over 10mph the wheel would start to shake from side to side. It rapidly got worse, until you braked down below 10mph again. Drove it around for 6 months like that before I found another steering box for it. The old one was full of sawdust and dead grease.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon
