It's been a few days but people seem to be getting what decrimilsation actually is mixed with what legalisation is.

Decrimilsation: 'Legal' use and possess Cannabis. I.e. The Consumer of Cannabis is basically taxed further if they're caught by the police - They'll get a fine if caught with any amount but no court action will be taken. Dealing/supply and growing of Cannabis will still be illegal, so prices will go up further because of new increased demand.

Legalisation: Fully allowed to grow, possess, use and sell/distribute Cannabis. The police won't be able to touch anyone unless they voliate the laws placed around Cannabis. I.e. driving whilst baked off their face.

Decrimilsation is the best case for the Police force/Government, as they don't really give two fucks about users, but growers are worth a lot more money in their eyes. Increased demand and money incentive will make sure many more growers get into the game allowing for plenty of 'saving the community' work to be done.

I would assume decriminalization would include the ability to grow a couple of plants, should keep the increased demand at bay (although I would argue that demand wouldn't increase significantly, most who would smoke already do).

yes. finding a grower, puting up a chopper, paying all the runts to go bush, spray it, court process, lawyers, jail - they're all getting paid!
(and it's YOU that pays them)
but "worth" a lot more? dont thinkso. and it wont change, because then they wont get paid. and jews love getting paid.

legalisation is the best case, and growers/dealers are taxed and regulated under a business sructure.
this is really easy for cops. they carry some scales, if you're holding more than , say, 2 or 3 pound a year, you better have the accounts ledgers to show your tax etc.
it also incentivises growers to do things "legit" - as they can write off that 30k hydro set up as a business expense, and completely removes the fear of persecution, and the need to associate with the less desirables.
it would also fix the economies and the "maori problem" wihin a month.

It does turn some people into complete zombies, so I do not think he can say that it doesn't impare people. Tis a fairly blanket statement, but then I am a prick for not reading the whole of something. I have been on jobs where the client has said to me that I have done a much better job on the digger than the previous bloke he hired, because that guy was a pothead. Little did he know that I had been smoking most of the way through his job.

I have found that some people decide workers are useless as soon as they find out they smoke pot based on nothing else, my old boss used to whinge often about certain workers for no reason other than the fact he thought they smoke pot. He would have me redo their work, oblivious to the fact I was smoking 3 joints a day at work.

My Dad (a crane operator) once had me come work on site with him because his dogman was a pot smoker. He had me follow him around with a radio and ignored him (who was qualified) and followed my instructions knowing I was both a stoner myself and unqualified (although I am experienced). He even told me that he had me do this because he didn't trust the guy because he smoked weed.

It's all about the voodoo pharmacology the older generation has been fed. They tend to perceive pot to be some horrific drug that completely fucks with peoples minds. Things are changing, although very slowly, I do think within the next couple of generations we will see the legality of cannabis change quite a bit, probably not until they find a way to test if someones currently under the influence of pot rather than bullshit piss tests that only show if someones smoked in the last month.

As with autistics, the to-and-fro between a stoner and a straight peep is mismatched, out of sync. The stoner is de-stressed however, and does not care, whereas the straight does and gets upset

Same as when your sober and try to relate to a room full of drunks. The drunks dont care but the sober person gets annoyed with them

If drinking was illegal, the sober peep could embrace righteous indignation over the drunks

Same as cultural difference's and racism. We are expected to conform to the societal default setting, whitey male talk with a nudge of booze and coffee.
