    There was a guy in the late 70s that use to run a YZ250 or 400 ? motard style thing on Ruapuna "Bret Hawker"

    That name doesn't ring a bell. But Racing moto-x bikes with slicks was the go for ages before they named it anything. It was a was a cheap way to go road racing, and you could be very competitive until big HP came to play...Mark Boyle, Ian Dawson, Dennis Newton...they all gave me inspiration to have a crack on my dirtbike. Got me hooked.
