One was the world’s only centralized Tory economy (carless days, MRP, Govt subsidies for industry, Think Big and tax everything) and the other was a Left Wing free economy experiment that is till unique in history.

Were you stoned through the eighties?
    In jail?
    Sectioned?
Don't disagree with you at all, the points you make are valid for the "ingredients" but I am referring to the mix that finally comes out as the end product!

Remember Matchless and AJS? Slight variations but essentially the same motorbikes!

National and Labour? ... You named the variations yourself but they both achieve essentially the same results!

The differences are not accidental, just designed to give the electorate choices to argue about while ascertaining that the desired results will be achieved.

The media just make sure that the electorate make their choices wisely and believe that they are "informed"!

It's called democracy to make us all feel good about it and to think that we have freedom of choice.

Carmel was the worst flatmate I ever had. She was worse than the indian guy who left stinky curry in a crock pot for 2 weeks. She was worse than the leech flatmate who never covered his bills on time.

Hell her feminine son stole money and her motherly instinct was that he should be allowed to keep it, because he stole it and I didn't see him steal it.

This was only 13 years ago.

So politicians in NZ aren't exactly pinnacles of society. Scum floats on the surface of any tank, including the political pool.

    You're winding me up.
Are you saying that if Muldoon had achieved a win in the 84 election, he would have instituted Rogernomics?
    Got us out of ANZUS?

Maybe you should exercise your freedom of choice and put the bong down.

If the labourite leader has no idea he is ineffectual, inept and a waste of political space, what are the rest of the red idiots up to?

The lunatic fringe party has announced that their great idea to simply "print more money", isn't as good as first thought. It is scary what else they will have in their hidden-agenda file.

It will be interesting to see what happens to the conservative party at the next election.
And riiiight....the Right is always huh?

I think that their popularity will rise in synch with a similar increase in the lefter Left...
