    Got us out of ANZUS?

Maybe you should exercise your freedom of choice and put the bong down.
    We will never know.

The good question would be what would the interest rate be in 1987? Will the banks claw back with a 20% rate while NZer's lose their homes? Can they do it again?

Doesn't matter the decision of what a government makes - if the outcome remains the same.

If I were in Labours shoes, and I wanted to grab the attention of the working man.....I would look at issues that people know are failing.
Kill DOL and start MOW getting people training with skills where you can build infrastructure (e.g. power / rail / roading). This will get the low-to-no income earners $ and qualifications. Thus bringing up the whole economy because suddenly there is a standard for how you should live you life.

Simply waving your finger at the other guy, and the industry doesn't do shit. No wonder all the Labour voters have no faith in their party - no one in that party has done any work (Labour). May as well call it the scholarship party.

All well and fine , UNLESS you have been "advised " on the style of economy

ever wondered why , "rail" isnt funded , when places like london and japan would simply cease to function without it, or why things have become privatised and even after the evedence is clear it doesnt work , they still sell off mighty river or why we just cant return to the old electricity board??,,,,

well actually there was really no choice, the finacial playing field changed, NZ being not more than a pimple on the arse end , really doesnt have any say

Our treasury is ., was and I hope will be quite responsible and actually quite good ( within the crap rules it has to play in) , it "advises " the whichever government takes the reins

If you want to see the future style of the government , look at the makeup of the treasury , if you Still dont believe me , start reading the budgets and statements of intent , you will see that policy laid down for years ahead , regardless of the make up the current or even future governments , ONE of those policies as I pointed out ( this thread or another not sure) , is for the sale of assets ...right through until 2017 ...

so if for some strange reason the Maori party becomes the next government , the assets will still be sold ........( dont believe me , Statement of intent , 2012-2017 )

    Now to answer another question

Focus groups , yes I do have a problem , ,,IF ( and it does happen Mr Clinton 2nd term) get a focus group , bell curve largest voting block , find out what the want , sell it to em in the run up , then a bullshyt excuse and do a u turn ,,, NOW I have issues ( to be fair National didnt u turn they have always said they would sell and privatise ,,,,etc, they just rode rough shod over NZ and didnt tell the whole story .....a good example is welfare spending )

Finally , While I personally dont have issues with any of stupid thing they do , I do think that the current path we are on is unsustainable regardless of which side of the fence and we DO need to just say enough . AT SOME POINT we WILL have to ALL make some form of quite radical change ....

In the mean time carry on paying over the top for essencial services , I know you love to , ,,,600 bucks rego , oooh industrial lube one jar of please , My arse needs a reamin !!!!

    Stephen

Oh sorry my bad , user pays, so every individual for themselves , sorry carry on ,,,silly me

OK .. the Otis Intellegence test was set up so that on a Bell Curve a score of 100 was exactly on the median mark - and in a population of several million the average and the median are the same thing - it gives a near perfect Bell Curve with the peak at 100. That's the way it was built. In smaller groups the Bell curve might show differences, but in a large country-sized population it will not.

Ergo - 50% of the population are on the left side of the Bell curve and 50% of the population are on the right side of the Bell Curve

Ergo - 50% of the population is below average intellegence ...

But you are taking this way to seriously - it was intended as an amusing remark .. yes, It's arguable - as above ... the Otis test is also very flawed - so flawed it does not tell us anything real ... remember - I intended it as a funny remark - not necessarily a serious one ...

Hmm .. I think Muldoon was one of the greatest Socialist leaders this country has ever seen ... second only to John A Lee ...

and the other was a Left Wing free economy experiment that is till unique in history.

I was working with irony there - Muldoon the Commie Tory and Douglas the Thatcherite Socialist.
