I will be doing fork springs tomorrow and trying to find some stainless pipe to finish what I need for the low mount exhaust. Once its on I will change the rear spring and remove the high mount pipes.

Then I have braided line coming for it so when the brakes are of the fork I will paint the lowers.

my Vincent clutch gave up the ghost the other day $149 and a bit more than overnight delivery and she's all sorted, time for a ride today to find out why the damn thing isn't a good hot starter

the photo shows the secondary clutch which is cetrifugally operated, it has a primary clutch with just one friction plate on top of that for smooth take offs before this one swings into action

Haven't done fuck all in the garage lately other than checking the rear pressure

But I am looking at a house with a 6 car garage - does that count?

cos you need 4 spaces for a blackbird

I am off downstairs to put he bike on its centre stand so I can polish the rear rim and check my static/rider sag (shudup Yod!)
May have look at the Rear shock adjustment while I'm at it...adding about 75-80kgs to the bike for a weekend away soon.

Got the vf running again yesterday.

And got another chinese jetski to work on, why do I keep doing that. I really should refuse to work on this cheap chinese crap, but I like money, Alot.

Much of my time in the workshop these days are spent maintaining my sons two KTM85sx MX bikes. There is always something that one can do to improve/maintain them. And as he rides every w/e (at times Sat and Sun) + practices in middle of the week, it keeps my hands busy.

A week ago i also dragged out an old 175cc Suzuki (pre-mudbug I think?) from the storage shed (Used to be a 125cc but has had a 175cc cylinder and piston transplanted (needs some bigger jets fitted too!). I tinkered and cleaned stuff that need to be working and after changing the tank to one that does not leak, she started after a few kicks! I found all the bits that I need to get her complete and started to sort the little 2 stroke bike out. Took her out for a ride today and worked well. Now a general tidy up, new oil, probably a set of fork seals + fork oil, remove bits that are not needed and perhaps some paint (as currently there is blue, red, yellow and silver stuff on the bike...),and we have another bike up and running!

That should keep me going until end of the week, then time for another one that is sitting there waiting for some TLC.

And for the summer a nice smallish beer fridge will be added to the workshop.

    I am happy!

May the bridges I burn light the way.

Just installed a 12V switched relay on my heated grips. Now I can't forget to turn them off. (Unless I'm a *complete* muppet)

Also found the dodgy connection that was causing the bike to cut out about once per ride. Battery terminal apparently shouldn't be wobbly.

Jets: I have a few carbies from 175cc ones, so will check what they are like. I suspect they are bigger. And sport different size jet's too.

Junior: He has 2 jobs: 1. To do well at school. 2. To in 2014 get to the top of NZ 85cc 11-12yo MX. I am responsible for the rest. As I have semi-retired my self I have the time. But he is in the workshop helping to work on the bikes if I am doing stuff after he is home from school.

So this weekend was a case of dodging the rain showers (Not blessed with a garage or shed) and taking the rear end of the GS off ready for me to start cleaning and polishing next week.

Also put the exhaust downpipes on just to see what it would look like, bleed the front brakes now they have new seals, pistons and brake lines.

Still have to get the tank, side panels and tail fairing resprayed, seat re-covered and maybe a new base as its pretty rusty, overhaul the rear brake, replace the brake line, decide what i'm going to do about the clocks (tacho is buggered), buy a set of K&N and finally see if she'll start.
