I had a similar opinion of Oxycodone (another synthetic opiate as Tramadol is) when given it following knee joint surgery. I have no problem with morphine or codeine (both opiates), but the synthetic version made me feel like shit. Depressed, nightmares and overall just a real bad head space. Told them to stick the Oxycodone after a day's worth. Guess the makers missed a few things in the synthesisation!
Well that was interesting. Just come back from the doctors who thinks I have a viral encephalitis, not meningitis. Oh joy! Still all it really means is it has a longer recovery time. My poor little brain
Get to tell my boss I off for another week at this stage. Wont I be the popular one?
Might see if I can do some from home if the brain will think that is.
Fatigue is my number 1 problem at the moment, I hope a re-jig of my medications will improve that in the days to come, a balance between pain management and fatigue. How decadent to have 2 naps a day![]()
They were going to send me home on oxycodone, tramadol and panadol, then changed it to tramadol, panadol and morphine. I am lucky I guess, tramadol is manageable as far as the side effects, I am not sure I would drive too far while taking it to be fair, tramadol and codeine = no driving at all.
