A fella I knew in Taupo back in the day, got so fucked off with his PE175 that in front of us all he picked up an axe & proceeded to smash it to bits
He was good at losing it......

I had a 78 PE400 which had the plastic tank.Used to commute in Hamilton on it.Tore the sole off more than one pair of work shoes starting the bitch but it was very economical on front tyre wear!

Yep, can confer on the tire wear thing and we must have been tough back then to commute on things like that

here's some cool PE convos from the archives http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/ar...p/t-81979.html

I remember when they first came out just as trikes were banned from sale,so poor Yamaha had to recall them all a fit a quad front end - in the uk anyway. Talk about bad timing!

Consequently all tri-moto's in the uk are quads?!?! Qua-moto's...

they were dangerous in the wrong hands.....
when a mate or 2 were around for a beer i use to pull the bike out for a play, use to piss my self watching them, they were all cool doing wheelies but when it came time to turn thats when my fun began
i used to get a kick out of sliding around on two wheels, they were fantastic down the beach... wish i still had it, it would make a good fishing hack
