I need new tyres for a WOF and Dr's orders says I'm on the road only for the next 6 months so I'm after a set of 90/10 tyres to suit 17"/21" DR650 at a budget price.
I found Pirelli MT90 at Cyclectreads at $144 for a rear and $129 for a front. Anyone know anything about them?

Any other recommendations? what about your Shinko's Nordie, got a link to a NZ distributor with pics and prices for them?

Yep, 705's from CycleTreads.
$120 for a rear and $102 for a front.
I'm threemendously happy with the 704's on the wee DT. Rode tarseal, wet & dry, deep pea gravel, wet & dry clay and single track mish mash yesterday. They never set a foot wrong.
I was on the TDM with 705 rear, almost as drama free but the wet clay & mish mash had me being very gentle on the throttle. The TDM diid very well in the deep gravel, going exacary where I wanted it to with the gas on & ploughed gravel out the way with the front without throttle going exacary where I did not want it to.
Manopausal.

My Father in law is an ex bike cop from the old days, when they had their own wrench monkey. He used to love getting new tyres on the bike, because the mechanic would used a hard buffing disk on a grinder to take off the shine on the front tyre, and let the cops do a standing burnout leaning it over from, peg to peg, out the back
. To remove the dangerous outer layer of rubber.
. He said it made a huge difference to new treads on the tight corners and crazy chambers on the Auckland streets.
good 'ol days alright...what era of bikes was he riding? i remember the cops having yamaha xj650's and before that honda cb550's, suzuki gt550's etc
before that i guess it was british![]()
