Thanks ADVGD
So I've had a awesome few days on the bike. only thing that went wrong was the pack rack bent.
These bikes are bloody great I don't know why there arnt many around maybe its the price??
I cant complain about anything.
So I've been Dunstan trail / Thompson gorge track and over to Bannockburn
Then Nevis /Garston/ Queenstown and back to Bannock burn
Bannockburn to Omarama for the night with my brother and his family.
Followed by a day of boating and left it a bit late but left at 5:50pm to go over the little Omarama saddle to Ranfurly and back home in Dunedin at 9:15pm
I had one deep fast flowing river crossing that did give me the shits but got over with ease![]()

Just scored a high windscreen off trademe - hopefully that will stop all the buffeting right at helmet level
Just put a set of ROX anti vibe risers on....
Thats gives 2 sets of anti vibe rubbers now.. the ones
in the top clamp & the ROX ones... Hopefully no
more numb hands...
Now I need a set of lower bars... Throttle cables
only just make it.... Perfect hight for standing...

Allo Pete....glad you made it out of the Clarence reserve....heard you an electrical problem,...still time left if you need to finish the reserve ride....
How about a mini tenere....
Yamaha had the choice of the TTR250 or WR250R motors
And they use the old XT motor....
The damping rod forks look a bit dated these days on a new design/model...

A good buy: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=693142380?
Or should I maybe shell out the extra to bring this down from Whangerei: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=692806687?
Given that this is my step up from step-throughs and 10" wheels. I'm looking for a solid, reliable thing that will do reasonable road duty with road-bike owning mates but won't care if the roads aren't tarseal and will handle some touring work and step up to harder stuff as my skills increase.
