I spotted this, and tried to buy it before it got here, but i could not score it, So ill make sure someone will pay what its worth by letting as many people know about it.

So any price paid is a donation to the government,as it is illegal to benefit from criminal activities?

Lower the price the better then.....

Wish i had some (lots) spare coin, have always lusted after one.The old man had an 860 then a 78SS(silver n blue) then if kick is right and thats his old SS he bought that one new,if it is that particular bike you will find its an 80. (or my memories old like me,sure his was an 80 but may be wrong).Apart from the noise my fondest memory of that bike was listening to the swearing the old man was directing at it after filling it up with gas, kick it over until christmas it wouldnt start with a full tank of gas, well it would but not until much sweat had been lost.I came across his old bike at a gas station in Ashburton years ago, bloke was having a hell of a time getting it to go after filling it up so i wandered over and told him of the old fellas SS,turned out it was the same bike as this guy had bought it off the old man...

Can anyone tell me where and when (if it hasnt already been held)this auction is taking place?Just been talking to the old fella and he is off to dig out some pics to get the rego number,if it is indeed his he is interested to see the outcome of the auction. He purchased his from Frasers in Australia who sent it over mostly assembled to a port in the north isle,he got himself up there had the crate driven to a mates house unpacked and they assembled the rest then he road it home to Nth Canterbury.

the bikes are in chch turners , and believe its coming up in next couple weeks , they are planning on marketing it heaps as they know they are sitting on a gold mine , i was tabling 15 k and they would not entertain the idea. they think they are on to a high figure for the DB2 as well but doubt it. lucky if you would see 4 to 6k ( only my opinion) we will see.
Bikes had Personal Plates on then that have been removed. Being a Ducati Train Spotter The SS has all the correct bits in the correct places , only thing that differed was Koni Rear shocks. With a resto this bike would be worth near 30k+ AUD . I'm sure they will promote it on TRADE ME

Mark used to clock up a lot of mileage on that bike back when I had the Darmah,he must have owned it 20+ years, I knew he had a Bimota as well but I haven't seen him for a couple of years at least

They are really only collectors items now, if you want a rider Ducati rubber band 900ss's are only 5k.
I prefer riding the R90s to the Darmah these days and my slippers are very comfy....oh my Milo is getting cold.
