drew from what you're saying the problem appears to be heat related. you don't have to ride the damm thing - just run it long enough to get it hot.
Yes but when you can get on track you have WAAAY less than an hours drive to get there. We have at least 2.5hours travel to get to manfeild.

It's all relative....a mate in Adelaide tells me his closest track is 4 hours away - and when his son was chasing Aussie titles he was only home when the travel schedule let him pass through town.

He thought two tracks within 2 1/2 hours distance was paradise....Ruapuna and levels. He'd envy your short travel time....

Hey Scott. Happy to ply you with booze for assistance.

Problem with just running it though, is that it runs fine without load. Plus it ran pretty well for the best part of a couple sessions at Ruapuna.

Told Allan last time we spoke to get hold of Gary at GP Motorcycle Wreckers to get a stock dash - speculating here ain't goin to fix the bike...

An hour or so in Gremlins (the real one ;-) workshop may well do so...

I will be down at both the Taupo & Manfied rounds

My diagnostic time is FOC - just make sure I have a cold Jack Daniels in my hand once the job is done...

Well if he had bought the house then he might not have won multiple world championships

1300cc is the max limit in NZ two stroke or four

Cool, that give some interesting potential but I can see why one would just run a current superbike style engine.

New motors are pretty much plug and play and go fast bits are readily available, developing something else is more time and effort than most people would be prepared to spend

Totally, and it's all resources diverted from spending time on the track, which I think is most important.

I understand Burt is toying with the idea of a snowmobile engine in a long bike.

I fail to see the attraction.
