It's a matter of physics. The amount of energy in fuel is a known quantity and that takes a known amount of air to etc. Subtract losses due to friction etc and apparently Ducati are very close to optimal.
Besides, power has never been a problem for the Ducati's, using the power they make is.

Yeah but you're assuming they don't lean it off towards the end of the race etc if they're getting low on fuel...plus...they're going down to 20l this year too no? So even *IF* they've had the luxury of running optimal fuel/air ratio for the full race distances, doesn't mean they'll have the same luxury with 1l less.

They'd make good drag bikes then.
It's only when confronted with the bendy bits that Ducati come unstuck. Where'dat front go?
Or with having more fuel at their disposal, they don't need the more fancy, complicated electronics ??? No ?
You'd never go hungry with Nigella Gaz.
If it weren't for flashbacks...I'd have no memory at all..
No, I hate myself for doubting sht I was 'feeling' on the bike and not doing something about it in that instance. Not the bikes fault at all. Shit, on the 'R' model there were adjustments that could have made it work with the wrong tripple clamps we had.
Oh yeah, with regards to rich/lean fuel mixtures. If they can afford to dump fuel on over run and cool the exhaust valves, then more power can be extracted from the current motors. At 21/20 litres that simply isn't an option.
No one is getting maximum energy from the fuel they burn. 100% efficiency is impossible in an internal combustion engine with current materials known to man.

Yeah well their engines are certainly pretty frugal. Not sure the customer version will be as so if they're using valve springs etc...but yeah...22 may be all they need. But they may also not was their *customer* bikes to be seen to make as much or more HP than the factory proto no?
