Beautiful condition - bit pricey but would be an excellent buy for the right person.

Yup, spotted that one myself the other day.

If it were local I would be very tempted to replace my landcrab with it. But the price is a bit too much as you said.

Hmmmm....... They cost much less than that when they were new.

That flavour of red does not hold its value on any model

Yeah, but you can't really make a direct comparison of price on old cars though. If they sold for say $3,500 in 1970, that would be around $53,000 today, adjusted for inflation (using the Reserve Bank calculator). So on those calculations the relative asking price is only around 12% of the "new cost".

Edit: It can be interesting doing relative cost comparisons. In 1948, the Jaguar XK120 sports car sold for 1,263 Pounds (say $2,600NZ). That cost, adjusted for inflation, is around $187,000. Puts the cost of a new Jaguar sports car in perspective, eh? A good XK120 sells for around $50,000 to $60,000 these days (around 30% of "new cost").

Well, our Escort managed 2nd in the Historic NZRC this weekend, very chuffed. Had a minor love tap with a bank, so a few hammers and crowbars came out, nothing hurt except a outer steering arm (to the strut, weak cast buggers) and a tail light and a wee bit of panel damage

And I was given a Honda Civic.

Pretty nice way to start the rally season?

    A twin carb A60! 1700? , that's a big jump from 1622.

I'm sure that's just a typo in regards to the cc. I can only assume that it's twin carb'd due to the fact it has an MG badge on it. I'd imagine autos would be pretty rare for these (compared to the Wolseley ones)?

How can you typo 1700 instead of 1622 ? That's the early model with big fins, they trimmed them down later on. Most MG and Riley badged BMC's had twin carbs....I had a twin carb manifold for my 1622, just one of things I never got around to.

I was born in 1962 and I always keep an eye out for cars of my birth year, like this:

Such a shame about the rust.

Some people are that special lol

YD, agreed, shame about the rust, though can't be too bad if it's got a WOF (unless it's dodgy).

If we're going for birth year cars:
