actually, what I object to more than racism, are people who pronounce the word "racist" as "ray shist".

Those people should be put to death unless they have a medically confirmed speech impediment. If so, their sentence is commuted to transportation to a sub-Antarctic island for life.

Jeremy was seated at St Pauls at dear old Maggie Thatchers funeral. Top bloke cut from the right cloth. All power to him and I hope in some way he nails that left leaning trashy excuse of a newspaper

I searched and found that famous Clint Eastwood scene form 'Escape from Alcatraz' the 'I hate Niggers' scene... it is on YouTube but the audio has been replaced with music.

(Though for the record, I generally find him amusing; you just need to know how big a dose of salt to take with him. And the current issue is a stupid media beat-up.)

That offends you? seriously? that offends you??

Yes. I wrote a letter to my MP, and emailed the Pope for advice.

    Valium and alcohol.

That, and writing half-serious posts that dimwits take seriously.

A quarter of it was being "offended" - but only using that word because of the very existence of this thread. It was largely hyperbole. If I'd written "slightly miffed" or "a portion perturbed" would that have been better for you? I do think some reaction to what I'd seen was warranted. (Whether it was designed to get that reaction from certain viewers or not.)

A quarter of it was to give an example how little I cared about the "offense" this thread is actually about, by saying I was offended by something pretty trivial.

You know, I reckon that a lot of folk who get "offended" by shit e.g. the Clarkson thing, are not actually "offended"but feel they should be for some reason.

Possibly. Being taught something is wrong (in this case, rightly so) but then ignoring all context when reacting to it.

Lol, the ripple effect is still being felt on radio in NZ - this morning on More FM Gary and Simon were doing a p't of the whole Beyonce, Solange JayZ lift thing. They read their "transcript" of the conversation in the lift starting like this: (older whitey man doing best imitation he can of fierce black woman) Solange snaps at JayZ "Ground floor, black man" ... and it deteriorates from there.

Now what made me laugh was not so much his bad imitation of fierce black woman voice, although it was pretty funny, but the fact that we all know what she reeeeeeaaaaaalllllly would have said would've been "Ground floor, nigguh" But, as we all know, no one will dare say the word any more in the public arena.

    How 'bout that for flow-on??
I lahk to moove eet moove eet...
