Angry Duck lady kills biker & his daughter?

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...tal-crash.html

A Canadian woman who parked her car on a highway to help a group of ducklings on the side of the road has been found guilty of causing the deaths of a motorcyclist and his passenger daughter who slammed into her car.
Emma Czornobaj was convicted by a jury on Friday on two counts of criminal negligence causing death, a charge that carries a maximum life sentence, and two counts of dangerous driving causing death, which comes with a maximum of 14 years in jail.
The 25 year-old was charged in the deaths of Andre Roy, 50, and his daughter Jessie, 16.

Czornobaj was released until her pre-sentence hearing on August 8.

What would you suggest as a sentence?
Live long and prosper ……………… or ride a motorbike

Motorists are allowed to stop without warning. Motorcyclists are supposed to be able to control the road in front of them. Colliding with the vehicle in front is generally regarded as the fault of the following vehicle.

Unless there is more involved with this case than has been reported, then the Duck Lady should go free.

Tough case. on one hand there is no intent to cause injury / death.

on the other hand stupidity killed a guy.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

would if make a difference if the hazards are on? it can be VERY hard to judge car speed in a motorway situation - how many nose to tails are there in the commute traffic which is less than 80k? - heaps. I've come across parked cars on the motorway (in the lane not the shoulder!) before and it always is a "oh shit" moment.

I had an Indian taxi driver stop in front of me on the Mangere bridge to fix his sign up, and I was in a truck with a full load and managed to stop in time, was almost touching his bumper but I stopped. Awareness or skill or good luck, still not sure.

From the article it looks like good intentions, mixed with a lack of common sense, and ignorance of the road code. Sad for all involved, really.

It is also illegal to stop on the highway without a really good reason. Orphaned ducks on the roadside do not count unfortunately.

What if she had just broken down?
Would the biker get the blame then?

It's a sad case. Lives were lost from what was good intention but bad judgement.

What was said is true, it was not worth it for all involved...
