Anyway even if they can't use the airbox that is a very simple one to fix
10.13.3 For Championship road races and endurance road races of more than 55 minutes – any breather pipes that come out of engines or transmissions must discharge into the heat resistant catch bottle. The breather pipe’s must be of a clear reinforced translucent material and be visible to the rider in a riding position.

Two things... is it for all championship road races.. or only those of more than 55 mins??? A bit ambiguous...
If it's for any championship road race, then how many bikes/chairs have a visible catch bottle whilst racing????
Also, if the airbox is used as a catch bottle, then it cannot be seen by the rider on a long bike.
Is it still beastiality if ya fuck a frozen chicken??

Only those more than 55 minutes, been through all that for the Battle of the Buckets,it's why we don't run a full hour

Won't need to bother when we run electric sidecars

Isn't that why you hit the container?

Always been quite clear - there's an and in the middle so it's both cases...this rule came in at pretty much the same time the first long bike appeared but as i remember there was no mention of a problem at the time. A clarification for long bikes could have been done....

we have of course had a conflicting situation here before...at the WSB rounds, FIM regs insisted on the airbox being the catch tank. Not a problem IMO, sound solution.

I'd suggest that the sidecar association put up a remit permitting airboxes to be used as catch tanks on chairs - maybe even for everything as i'd doubt if many solos comply now....Bikes with no airbox should still require the catch tank as worded now.

In all different shapes and sizes

Been working on my catch tray today, cut one side off it to widen it so I can make the side come up higher and have the gear linkage fit inside it

Played around with the oil absorbent matting, soaked some oil into it and tried to set it on fire expecting the oil to burn but it doesn't, the material just melts away where flame is applied

    Busy man.

Was the oil hot when you tried to burn it?

No, I did think about that, I want to heat some up and see if that affects the way the matting absorbs it as well, then I might try setting it on fire again

One of the absorbent pads I got is about 50mm thick and about 400 x 400, thinking of cutting a hole in the middle so it so it fits up around the sump if I use that one, the other stuff is about 2-3mm thick about 400 x200 and can soak up 800mls

Throw some burning oil in there and see if it goes out :/ If it does add some petrol and she'll fire right back up

Not sure what the desired effect is that you want but it would look cool with flames

If you need a hand, Gordie is really good at setting sidecars on fire.
