If it makes 30+HP I will break it very gently to him.

Some years back a customer who made light fittings for a living was having problems holding thermocouples onto fittings for heat tests. I asked a mate at Air NZ workshops and got some very high temp Araldite which they use for gluing thermocouples onto jet combustion chambers. Can't remember the Araldite number sorry, but these things are about.
Good to know, however I am just relying on the Toolmakers curse. Exact tolerance. The weld should pull them in nice and tight, and they will pull into the gap snugly as well. Should be plenty of swearing if they don't.

You will probably hear me in Christchurch if things go pear shape.

It won't have to make 30hp to do the business.

Thanks ... and its true, at the moment you don't need 30+ hp to do the business, but I expect it could help.

This is where I got to before wrecking my 31hp cylinder, at the time I did not understand the importance of retarding the ignition when running part throttle. After that I got a TPS and ran a 3D ignition map.

This dyno graph was about balancing the main and air correction jets. Blue line = bigger main, fitting a bigger air correction jet leaned the blue line off at the top end to keep the air/fuel mixture correct as thr rpm went up. And after a bit of work it eventually matched the Red line (smaller main jet) for max revs while still having a smooth start to the torque curve.

Seymours cylinder is a very cleaver piece of work, I like it.

We have the GP at the moment, want us to turn it into a dyno shoot out instead of a race?

It will be tricky, but I think we can get the dyno on the trailer for the next round...

May have to sacrifice some two wheelers to do it though...

We could go back to the 75 lap races we had at mt Wellington for the gp ,but I would be keen for 5 laps to not getting any younger.

He's an early morning riser, take a look at the time! Either that or a Timelord...
