Sweet Jesus, has it REALLY come to this ? People can potentially get hurt falling on their handlebars too, yet dozens of dicks are skidding around with uncapped bars, kill switches that don't, ends broken off levers, loose pegs etc etc etc ..... getting deafened by the swooshing sound of knees jerking Whats next, cant return to the track if you've fallen off ?

    Calm down Twiggy,

Theres no need for any more rulechanges, The killswitch is already covered as mentioned earlier, But while considering the current changes, I would have thought there would have been some consideration given to the sightglass issue with the Ninjas, Especially given the person responsible for the wording of these rules races a Ninja, You know who I mean, Wonder if the thought was to maybe encourage the purchase of aftermarket brackets etc as opposed to a simple remedy of a clutch cover protector,

Can't return to the track!!!! What a good idea hahahaha.

The sightglass is really only an issue for those poor unfortunates domiciled in the Wrong Island, where the track go the wrong way round. And for those who haven't learnt to stay on ............

    Yea,

Or not, Talk to Harrick Simons about that, All though I do agree re staying on, Funny how that Island thing works aye, Was only 12 months ago I received an email from down your ways re the imminent danger of racing on dot approved tyres in the wet, A wee petition followed, But suddenly it all died off when I pointed out they may need to put drain holes in their bellypans to stop the 7 litres of water my bellypans hold causing the aquaplaning of the front wheel under brakes, Some folks just can't see the wood for the trees aye, You'd have thought peeps with over 20 years competing could have worked that out themselves, But no AND we let these Einsteins have a say in running the organisation

That would be the same group that threatened to take me personally AND the organisation to court for not allowing them to do what they deemed safer, run slicks in the rain instead of treaded tyres

Some of, But not entirely, One of them stated the slicks worked TO GOOD in the wet and said he had his knee on the ground in turn 1 at Teretonga in the wet and then questioned why we made them run on dot approved tyres

Yeah, well - I've had my whole BODY on the ground in the loop more times than some of those guys have ridden round it - never blamed my tyres, not about to start either

Actually.... I have dropped it on the RHS a few times but clearly in the right way.
My brake lever ended up being 1/3 of the width of the original, so that is another option.....

On light low powered bikes they actually work a lot better in the usual torrential Teretonga rain than most people would think, good enough to win races on anyway
