    The "holiday highway", f@ck noooo!

consent granted, for (probably) fulton hogan to build MORE fucking road between auckland and north.
    (puhoi-wellsford)

seriously, they dropped the speed limit 20km/h so aucklanders drove into each other less - and they didn't. now they're going to add more road for them to drive in to each other on.

fuck you auckland cunts, and fuck anyone who votes national, and fuck you.

on the upside, it may get some of the dipshit tourists/aucklanders off the backroads in peak season, but still.

Shouldn't it be renamed the Elite Commuter highway? For most of the time that is what it is, so people too rich to live on the north shore can commute several hundred k from lifestyle block in Mercedes c class....

I remember when the Northern Motorway stopped at Tristam Ave (Now to Puhoi) and Otahuhu to the south (it's dual lanes to at least Te Kauwhata) many many kilometres have been added for the betterment of driver comfort, this next lot is just adding to that, and in due time. 120kms of Motor/Expressway.

    Farrrrk.
I remember when there was no Northern.
Traffic lights to turn up the hill to Glenfield, which had farm paddocks behind it.
Nowadays there are lights as far as you can see.
Thanks for making feel real young again.

Yep, remember when the northen ended at Tristram, there was some good bike riding around sunnynook back then. Worked on the farm next to the shit ponds when it went through to greville rd. came to my senses then and got the fuck out of there. Used to be some cool jumps at the corner of bush and spencer roads back then too.

You Norflanders don't realise that you are just a suburb of Auckland now. Len Brown is watching you!

I didn't live in Auckland at the time, but relations did, at Forrest Hill, cousin and his mates had bikes (70's 125 Honda's) that they used ride on the Motorway construction which finished at Tristram. Back then the earth movers didn't move on the weekend it seemed.

That's not funny. They like to boast that it's the biggest city in Polynesia. They only say that because athough it's even more an Asian city, sadly size does matter.

I live in Birkenhead, and my elderly neighbour has lived in the area his "whole entire life" (fuck, I hate that expression). He was telling me how he used to catch snapper just off from the Birkenhead Point wharf, and the rowboat would be so full of fish it was in danger of capsizing. Then he couldn't even give them away; no-one wanted them, not even for compost for the garden.
Fucker. That's why the harbour's got farkall fish in it now, from greedystupidcoontz like him.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
