...what a great curtain raiser to the GP they were...yesterday was my first day in leathers for close on two years and I couldn't help but notice how quick the whole bucket class has got...two years ago my bucket of shit could play midfield and even keep up with the odd FXR or two...yesterday I pushed it harder than the tyres or bike could go and couldn't even stay with the back markers...good on you lot...the most developed class in racing...my bucket , since about 4pm yesterday has been relegated to 'farm hack...

I only got 6 and a bit minutes in but I know how fast the well bikes are, Jeebus Dave fucks off at the start!
The other bike in the mix are all pretty quick though.

How the hell did AJ come 7th!?!?!

Are you sure that wasn't lapped 7 times?

Ok here we go. First practice, about third lap into the hairpin and it locked up. Quite dramatically crossed up glad to stay on. Started up again so back to pits. Bigger main clean pilot. Happens again when I sneak out in pre89. Although it is eligible. Found a drilled out pilot and that seemed to sort it but I was hesitant in the hairpin for well into the BOB.

So with sod all practice and some trepidation I line up for the first race which is for the CAMs F4 cup. I would like to say I ran away and hid, but I could hardly string a good lap together. Diesil and then Lewis passed me at different times but I managed to somehow get my life together enough to get back and stay in front for the win.

The BOB I lead for several laps and it became evident that Hank and Lewis were stringing together better laps together so I waved them through on the straight. It's a long race and I intended to get a riding lesson. More later.

But then Diesel slipt through too. I followed for a while but the others were making a break so I had to get past. I did and gapped, but lost too much distance on the front two to learn anything. I. Found some new lines but couldn't gain anything. I did think I was staying a constant distance. Sadly about 30min it went clatter and my crank broke its pin like last year. But I did have enough speed to coast over the hill so it was a short push.

    Mission accomplished.

With More practice I would have been in the hunt but Lewis deserved the win and seems like a thouroughly good young lad.

Bike goes in the lock up. It can wait.

rode the wheels off the FXR.
the only mod i have done to it was an old XRb250 Carb, got it in the mail, bolted it on (karen asked if i should pull it apart and clean it... pfff only people who care if they win do that)
started it and it went... FAST..
oh and new (2nd hand) slick on the front. and 10kgs of weight lost over the last month..

was a great race. didn't even see the white flag, let brendan booth past as i thought he was lapping me... then he didn't get away, so i over took him..then he over took me.. then i over took him.. then i stuff up a corner and he went past.. then i saw the checkered flag... bugger.. could have caught Mike stien if i had known...

thanks to all the organizers, sorry i didn't stay for PG but i had to fly .!

    7th... wow..!!!

    what a ride so far!!!!

    Thumbs up

Disappointed to break down (twice)...but got too see some of the action close up.

Great racing from all and obviously very proud to see Lewis take out the win...seems a long time ago
that he first wobbled out onto the track on an RG50...but it was only April 2011.

Looking forward to next year already...well done to all competitors for your commitment and to CAMS for another
    1st class event.
