The wee bag on the tank, is that from the same supplier? And how is it held on to the tank? Love the look of the panniers.

    Cheers.

Its a Kriega US-5. Great for use as a store for wallet, hat, camera etc. It's bolted onto the tank via the straps that go around the bag, using fittings HPN originally put in for a rally documentation folder. Its small enough that it doesn't get in the way when I'm moving round on the pegs. The US-10 on the back has tubes, pump, first aid kit, jacket inners etc. Both very nice bits of kit. Here's the aus distributors website

There'll be 3 sets of Mosko Moto 35l Expedition panniers at the 'Cape to Cape' labour weekend. Phreaky Phil has had his tax grab notice, so I expect he'll get them in the next few days

Here's the webiste for Mosko Moto. At this stage they aren't selling via retailers. Interesting site to trawl thru

    Some more pics....
After packing up the bags unsuccessfully and poking my nose out the door to see a bit of low snow lying around I hit the road on Sat. morning
A nice ride up the Mot valley, with a reasonable dump of white stuff as a backdrop

Then on to the Dry Weather rd from Tapawera to avoid the Glenhope saddle. No pics here, but it was sleeting on the top of the road when I stopped. One of these days I'll get round to getting another heated grip for the left hand side
Then down to Murch to wrap my frozen fingers round a pie and a cuppa. It was raining pretty hard by this stage, and I was wondering why I wasn't home in bed
Followed by a run through the Gorge and down to Reefton, again... Temps hadn't risen above 6deg but at least it wasn't icey
I headed into Jims hut again, simply because I knew where it was and the temps had hit double figures by this stage.

It was a bit moar weterer this time

The following day I figured it was time to find the roads I couldn't find last time.... I did
    This is Cape terrace rd

Yes I probably could've got around the gate, but there wasn't much room for error and the ditch looked pretty deep I must be getting soft in my old age.
I figure the economic downturn on the coast must be starting to bite when you see signs like this on the road side

Rockstar economy my arse.... Hope theyre house trained and he gets a good price for them
    Mooving right along...
I went passed Shantytown and made my way up Maori Gully rd. Following the little purple line on the GPS.
By this stage it was really chucking it down so I didn't take many pics, and those I did take are a little "washed out", a bit like how I felt.

A nice little track that seemed to go up and up and up, the view from the top is posted on the other page. It was a little bumpy/loose/soft in places, but cool none the less
Then it went down down down, and through these trees

Then I popped out back on the main rd at Stillwater. A quick squirt back towards Reefton and I decided to pop into Waiuta for a brew, haven't been there in years. No pics here as they're all a bit more washed out...
Except this one..... I thought it was a cool sign, certainly eye catching

Then back through the gorge in more rain.... with a bit of wind thrown in just to keep thing interesting
The bags performed great, didn't get ripped off by the shrubbery and kept things dry, now I just need to learn to pack them properly with even weight distribution

BTW, in an email to Moskomoto they mentioned their flat-rate $100 freight charge to NZ 'may' be the same for more than one set of bags; so anyone else in top-of-the-south island interested PM and we could bulk order
I think the price for postage was pretty reasonable, It's quite a big box and there wasn't any room to spare. I'm pretty certain the actual cost of freight is more than the quoted price.
I can't get the wedges to sit any lower with the racks installed, but I'm happy with the height, they're lower than the tail rack when fully strapped down and compressed.
I haven't looked to see what they cost, but IMHO it's money well spent. And they look the shiz on the GS

Did you think you were riding in a maze while on maori gulley road? it just seems to meander all over the show. Been in their a coupla times and still wonder how the hell I found me way out. Good way to bypass greymouth.

    Cheers for the writeup.
