Driving through Papakura with my mum this afternoon she asked me about an intersection I've driven through countless times but I was at a loss as to how to answer her question. I told her I'd consult the almighty collective KB knowledge data base for enlightenment.
Said intersection is set as follows: looks basically like your typical crossroad except that from the eastern approach it is free thoroughfare in all directions, from the western direction opposite it is a compulsory stop, from the southern approach it is also a compulsory stop, and from the northern approach it is a give way. So here is her question: if two cars approach, one from the south and one from the west they are both on compulsory stops - who has right of way? Is it one of those courtesy options??
(For those of you familiar with Papakura I think it is the East Street and Wood Street intersection).
