Not voting due to apathy is the antithesis of a free society and leads in the long (or not so long run) to tyranny and autocracy. It does not lead to anarchy (as some would have you believe) as anarchy is simply a political vacuum and politics (ie the system of interactions between humans) abhors such things.
    That is all.
Dont disagree with what I THINK you said Steve ( theres a large body of MNZ members you lost when you 'idealogically violated' them ) I have no issue with people who choose not to vote .... what I DO have an issue with is those who dont vote 'cos they simply cant be arsed, and then have very strong opinions that get voiced on here, Arsebook etc etc

Hi KB's, 1st priority for those on here that are eligible to vote, - is at least make the effort if possible. It would be good to see the percentage of members voting higher than it is. This provides a more secure personal mandate for whomever the victor is. There are two positions to vote on this year President and South Island Road.
    Cheers

There are 3 options when it comes to voting for the MNZ President

    • Paul Stewart
    • Glen Williams
    • Abstain

That means there's no excuse for not voting. If you don't like either of the candidates you still have a choice.

Way better than not voting at all and then whinging your arse off.

As there's an option to abstain anyone eligible who doesn't vote is being a lazy, useless prick that needs a kick in the arse.

What is the point to abstain vote? if you do not know who or what you want, what the fek are you even involved in the sport for. Paul Stewart has been there before, and history shows the results. Very clear to me anyway, that a new fresh healthy captain is needed on board the ship about to sail. Glen has the business experience, actually more than Paul does, as Glen owns his own company that he built up very succesfully, whilst racing himself and paying his own bills, he is an ex NZ Champion that 100% understands what it takes from the riders side of the fence to make things happen. Paul is a passionate man that has been an office worker for Honda for years selling atv and stuff.
