Have a close look at the one they're selling Yoshimura japan didn't source their pipes from the US yet that one is boldly displaying a Yoshimura made in the USA pipe
For sure the OW01 would be the pick of the ones from CG but the N1 would be my personal favorite to have missed one 10yrs ago and this sod is another just out of reach

Could and should have bought an RC30 many moons ago when living in Wellington, always have regretted not buying the thing.

Certainly my choice of collectable Honda road bikes mate. Far rather have an RC30 than a 45.

Yea me to mate, been trying to remember the name of the shop that had the bloody thing, sales guy was shortish dude and somewhat tubby, good bugger and can remember one morning leaving for work from Jville and when getting down to where motorway merges with the hutt travellers there he was on a brand spanking Fireblade in the next lane, was gridlock so we had a yarn whilst slowly moving then he starts doing mini wheelies when enough gap opened up,possibly it was "Sawyers"long time ago so maybe not,do remember the RC well though, rode it and it was truly awesome.

Sounds like you are talking about Richard Scholer (prob crap spelling) from the old defunct Honda City (he worked in the Taranaki street, Wellington branch). Their Lower Hutt shop had a used (standard) RC30 for sale. I took it for a good thrash and was impressed with the handling, but the power was a huge disappointment. I had just stepped off a GSXR1100 though. I too would prefer a RC30 over a RC45 which I thought was over priced rubbish at the time it came out. However now I'm not as anti honda as I once was I'm sure I would really appreciate the build quality and engineering of one now. I never rated the SP1 or SP2 either, but would prob even appreciate those now days. Personally I dream of finding a little old lady with a RG500 or RZ500 one of their kids abandoned in a dry shed years ago for next to no money, dreams are free

I wonder how he'll respond if I offer him half the asking price? Plus that's an 06-07 manufactured model, probably late NZ registered in 2009.

Basically a 10 year old bike for $15k.

A mate bought her 06 10 which is light damage but otherwise fine for some silly price like 5k. 3x is not 3x better.

    Genuine query.
I'd totally have an SP1 or SP2. and have a chance of affording one...... RC30/45 not so much it seems.

Probably a home market RC30. I spent a lot of time some years back rebuilding the motor and sorting out a home market RC for a mate incl fitting the right ignition box. i wasn't impressed by the build quality of the motor either. Eventually got 118hp at the wheel out of it with a quiet can and stock cams.
Never felt powerful though - all the V4 hondas have linear power curves with none of the GSXR's fun humps and big surges.
