How much sunk money have you got in the old girl? Plenty. Tart it up and keep it.
Thanks for the replies and pms.
Just purchase price on paper when I bought it years ago.
But like many ? I really can't be bothered going thru the selling process. ( Pms say 8 and a half grand).
The Tart up appeals, so I can still enjoy a fang or trackday occasionally. It has a wonderful engine. Something to fiddle with too.

If it weren't for flashbacks...I'd have no memory at all..

The fact you don't like a buyer isn't important if he has 4k its only 100 short of your amount. Just take his money.

The 'cash' bit from buyers fucks me off. Makes me wonder WTF people are planning to pay with if they don't specifically say 'cash'?
Maybe they'll rock up with $4000 worth of turnips? Daughters virginity? Patents for mankini designs?

And when did haggling on second hand goods become a dick move? You have an idea of what it is worth, so does a the market, don't get you panties in a bunch if the two differ. Imo you come off as more of a dickhead in that exchange than he does.

Nah you see before I listed my bike, I emailed 4 sellers who were selling the same bike as mine, very similar kms (about 3000km difference between the range) and same condition and year, over the last 2 months asking them to tell me when they sold their bike (so I knew how long it took) and what price they sold it at.
All 4 replied to me, longest sale took 4 weeks because they didn't budge from their asking price of $4500. Rest sold within 2 weeks at $4000-$4300.

So I got to work and listed mine and did exactly what they did, listed for a higher amount and knew my final price in mind which was $4100.
I listed the bike on friday 24th April and had 4 people come and view it.
It sold last night, just over a week on the market and I got exactly the price I wanted of $4100.

So you could say I knew my market, priced it well and won in the end. I can refuse offers if I deem the buyer to be an idiot, I'm not desperate for a sale.

In my experience of selling many cars and bikes on trademe, people who offer cash like that are time wasters. They have no intention of buying, just fishing. How did that guy go up from $3500 to 4k? Going by what you guys say, I'd be a fool to refuse $3500 seeing as the market offers it!

Most who are serious will call, or if they txt they will txt in an educated manner most others aren't worth my time and I rather my vehicles go to good homes than shitty ones where they fuck it and then try hit me up saying I sold them a dud vehicle or something.

You misunderstand, refusing an offer is fine, especially if you are sure of what you can get, or not desperate for a sale. Getting your panties bunched because some dude offers you less is the waste of time, and it was your choice. Why didn't you just respond with '4100 firm' each time?

Fair enough if that's what you meant. If I said $4100 he should know the first time. After that it's just me playing games like he is. Nothing wrong with it. I'd say the bigger asshole is the one who keeps pestering when they already know the boundaries.

Did you say 4100 the first time?

Normally he would be, but when the seller starts playing games as well it's a different story.

What sort of money would it pull ?

OR : I love the thing and plan to fighter it,with bars and more adjustable pegs. The old body just isn't enjoying the style anymore. So, if I got a couple of bob for it,I'd move it to a good home.
Otherwise I'll change the personna and keep the beast forever.
I would go with riser bars and adjustable pegs. Or even just taller clipons. You wont get a much better chassis so make the bike look like the rider, not the other way around.

Ive just lifted the bars on my Honda for the same reason.
