Normally he would be, but when the seller starts playing games as well it's a different story.
I will claim my title as an asshole in this situation then. I will embrace it and I'd do it again if I could.

Maybe they'll rock up with $4000 worth of turnips? Daughters virginity? Patents for mankini designs?
Tell ya what, give us the 4k cash, throw in the daughter's virginity and a couple of turnips, and it's yours.
    Keep on chooglin'

You sure? The mankini market can only improve from where it's at now

If I say I'll pay cash, it means I'm bringing the paper with me to make a deal on the spot. Otherwise could be bank cheque, or internet banking, or generally faffing you about.

I sold my last car to a guy in Auckland who said he'd pay cash and he wasn't joking. $22k in a sports bag...

Sure, its $20k, but it would surprise a lot of people and be cool as fuck.

    In fact:

that. I want that. (the top one on the spoked wheels)

I dont think Richard Pollock has ever built a bike I wouldn't own. or covet. or something.
Why? They only have 61 horses ...

If I was going to play with a new bonnie - I'd go this way .. and with Norman Hyde bits you can get 85 horses ... nearly as much as my 650 bandit.

My adopted grandfather used to pay for everything with cash, including houses, and he never tossed the word around like people do on trademe. It's really not a big deal, it's how you pay for shit.

Considering you don't usually get a vehicle until the seller has the money in full, cash is more of a convenience for a buyer than a seller.
If anything large sums of cash are more of a hassle than internet banking if you don't have a safe place to put it.

Banks are pushing cheques out the door soon. They are the only way you can give them a big fuck you and withdraw all your money on the spot at the moment.

ha, I bought a bike for 11k once. it was all in $20s as most of it was cash id been saving up. Id stashed it in a drawer in my room, rolled up in lots of $500, held with a rubber band. some of it had been curled up like that for months.
so when I went to the bank and dumped 11k on the counter, they took the rubber bands off, it stayed rolled up tight. Took the poor lady quite a few attempts to count it, as she couldnt roll it out flat, so I stood there trying not to laugh for nearly half an hour while the struggled to get it all counted. poor lady was close to telling me to fuck off i think.

How much longer will we be able to pay with cash though, especially large amounts. I recently transferred via internet banking about $20K into my Westpac account from a credit union account for the purchase of a vehicle. It took them 3 business days to clear the whole amount, they would only clear so much each day, something to do with the new money laundering requirements apparently.

that excuse smells like bullshit. they can track anything they want - and if there's doubt, they just seize every asset you own anyway.

more to do with banks having ways of collecting on money in their possession most likely.
    theiving cunts.
