Is it really road rage? Or the mealy-mouthed lazy NZ media latching on to another over-used cliche in the grand PC social engineering experiment that is NZ?

I am determined not to be like this.

Don't worry the feeling will pass and you'll be just like the rest of us pricks out there.

I blame the All Blacks and our rugby mad sideline/armchair referee culture. We're raised thinking we all know best and a bit of biffo served up fixes everything.

Wouldn't say NZ is much worse than UK where I drove for several years, just we have more ferals as a percentage of population here. Funnily enough the last two road rage fights outside my house (and I'm talking about parking up and getting out of cars) have both been by woman drivers with the foulest mouths I've heard outside of a feminist convention. To their credit the guys bailed up in both situations didn't raise a hand although one must have been close to it...

Best thing I ever seen though was a fatty in a little 3 door hatchback go nuts at me for being about to sneak down the wrong way of a one way service lane at 5am in the truck. He was jabberwocky septic slobbering so much his car was rocking side to side. I couldn't help but laugh which didn't improve the situation lol

This happens lots in NZ to if there isn't a heap of lemmings in the fast lane doing 80k in their cages...

Its inappropriate to refer to people of a robust weight as "fatties" in 2015.....another throwback to that armchair rugby culture you were talking about?

Quite correct. Road rage here exists but is in its pure form, rare. You wanna see road rage? Visit West Africa and ride up to an intersection where you have the right of way but it is about to be contested by a bunch of ganja-smoking trigger-happy teens with AK47s. Let's just say - no contest. Y'all win, and have a good day now.

Then, they'll likely show up with an Oerlikon WWII-era AA gun mounted on a technical. (No I don't have pix... we were too busy accomplishing an rapid U-turn... as one does in these circumstances).

I had a good one a last week. Turning left at an intersection, an oncoming car did a right turn across my path (in contravention of the new give way rules). Rather than get all road-ragey about it, I slowed a little and let them go through. This outraged the guy behind me, who flashed his lights, hit his horn, and screamed abuse out of his window. He was still hurling abuse at me at the next intersection. And all because he had been held up for a couple of seconds.
Laugh it off, take his number and report him.

Its one of the most frustrating things that can happen on the road IMO - a person is in such a hurry that they cant delay there trip for a few seconds so they pull out of a side road or driveway in front of you causing you to brake hard and slow considerably and then they amble down the road at 70 or 80 ks. Cunts - every last one of them.

    - oh, beat me to it bmws1r
Wow , you wouldnt be one them? aye

Yep, losers sure whinge a lot about the 'too hard' driving test.

Answer? Send 'em to Germany to do their driving test.

    NZ drivers Road rage???

A bloke in a van cut across me on the shore a few months ago then stopped and pulled out a claw hammer. Stupid shite was wearing a photo ID badge so I called his rego and ID. A few days later the boys in blue paid him a visit - he probably shat himself since there was a heap of eyeballs on him when he thought about having a go.
    Funny as hell.
