There were 600 Lions killed last year...most of them by narcissistic egoists like this prick. 2% of the lion population killed per year..mainly the biggest and healthiest of the male population....all legally of course...not that I'd call it hunting. If he went out by himself with a bow and 2 arrows, and stalked the lion (and not a lion who ignored humans, like most of them do) got in close and made the kill.........

    67 Pound Draw?

Tis a Toy fit for Children

130-200 pound draw weights is where the real men are.

Kill range of hunting bows is around 20 yards max. He would have to be damm close anyway ... sure - arrows go further than that, but they lose their impact force very quickly ...

arrows, esp broadheads, dont kill by hydrostatic shock ('impact force'), rather, massive haemorhaggings. A 125gr 3/4" broadhead with a chest shot will often drill holes through even red deer, leaving a wound channel some square feet, to bleed out of...

(with muchum practice, i'd trust an arrow to 50. A pro, maybe 70.)

I've dabbled in Medieval re-enactment, but truthfully, they were only 20-30 pound draws (practice bows) with light weight arrows.

However I did see demonstration of a Longbow that was I think a 90 pound draw - and it is scary to see a bodkin punch through plate Armour...

Even scarier when a proper English Long-bowmen would be pulling 150-200 pound draw weight (estimated)

If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

In regard to the arrow thing, there are a large variety of different piles that used for very different activities, and the the type of pile changes depending on the target. Most people are familar only with target piles and "ancient" broadheads. What you'd take boar hunting is very different to what you'd use on people. Boars don't believe they are dead until they can't move anymore. Deer and people tend to die somewhat easier. But Akzle is right, a proper lethal large mammal oriented broadhead burrows into its prey. Range and force are mediated by how fast you can get an arrow spinning, so again the fletching of a hunting arrow is quite different to a target arrow as well as the head/pile.

I used a 42lb draw composite (ash core, willow outers, fibre glass finished) recurve I built myself for bow hunting which is a sport, because it is done in bush, in awkward terrain and an arrow leaps up upon release and then levels out a few metres in front of you. A 3m target distance required lots of practice to get your head around the trajectory change. I used a 40kg compound (has a pulley to reduce holding load at full draw) for indoor target shooting and 60kg for outside. I used the 42lb with rabbit piles to kill rabbits. It's a flat disc on the end of the arrow. It smashes a rabbit. I'd use target piles on big hares. I won't hunt pigs with a bow because I'm not stupid. I prefer 25mm grenade rounds fired from something that can project them 200 metres at least. I cannot draw anything over 60kg and reliably hit targets, even a compound. I have no shame in admitting that. But you can overcome limitations with technology and head, shaft and fletching tech has come a long way since Agincourt.

Cecil would be astonished to know how much discussion his demise has generated on an insignificant little motorcycle forum located on the bottom of the world!

Interesting side note - In Medieval times, one of the tests of a Knights skill and bravery was to hunt a Boar on foot, with only a Sword.
